Powerful graphic simplicity, Lenore! You raise interesting questions with this gallery on the American Dream. I am both American and Canadian. Here are a couple of thoughts on a broad and complex subject: Canadians do not have a Dream. We, of course, have our goals and hopes, but we never talk of a single dream, nor lament its illusiveness. If the American Dream is freedom, that contains its own set of problems. D H Lawrenece sagely said, "Shouting of freedom is a rattling of chains." I will shut up now... :)

Lenore, this entire series is amazing...your insights and portrayal of the landscape changes are wonderfully conveyed...the existentialism of the American Dream is now being exposed for what it has long been...a cruel image manipulation aimed at feeding opium to the masses to quiet dissent, questioning or probing discourse about the institutions that are entrusted...the Wall Street Rage that is now occurring could be a prelude to more dramatic direct actions if the political leadership fails to put the country ahead of political points...if that happens, the Arab Spring will look like Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte...
