Description
This photo was taken during my Wyoming trip. My sister, Dawn Senior-Trask names the deer she sees in her environment and can tell them apart. I don't remember the name of this deer.

Great Title too! It took me a moment to realize Dawn is your daughter's name and seemed to suggest the deer received a name similar to some native american tradition of waiting for a moment and hint of character to develop. Sometimes I feel like an idiot...
Lenore Senior replied:
No, Robert, you're not an idiot!~yes, the title is a play on words to be taken several ways. Actually, Dawn is my sister (younger by 13 years), but that's not important so much.... you kind of picked up on the kind of spiritual, native thought process....

Wow, Lenore, you brought out gorgeous colors in our still-wintery yard and in the coat of Sidekick! (We call him that because he's a younger buck who tags along with the magnificent Wanderer. It took me a minute to i.d. him because his antler buds are not very prominent right now.) Lovely, enchanting photo! David, I would call this mule deer semi-tame because he's learned to tolerate being around humans during the winter. If he's as smart as Wanderer, he knows to avoid people the rest of the year and especially in the fall!
