1950's - The Old Weaver is from film taken in the '50's by Willoughby Senior. The Old Weaver was the name he gave his best friend among the Hopi in his book Smoke Upon the Winds in order to disguise his true identity. As a traditional leader among the Hopi, Senior did not want him to get in trouble with his people over telling an Anglo man he trusted about the old ways and why they need to be preserved. This body of work is copyrighted and cannot be used without permission. This image has been converted from film and processed by one of his daughters, Lenore Senior.
