Description
1950's - Dust Storm is a work taken from 8 mm film by Willoughby Senior on the Navaho Reservation in Arizona. Senior had a 30 year relationship with the Hopi and Navajo people. While dust storms on the reservations could be dangerous, the most dangerous situations were the rains when they came and created mud so thick it was difficult, if not impossible, for the children to walk to school which was probably some distance from their homes. The Senior family knew at least one girl who died from such an event. This photo was processed by one of Senior's daughters, Lenore Senior.
