Description
June 20, 2012. Two women got on a bus on a perfect summer day. One sat on the right side of the bus, one on the left. The woman on the right saw only unkept lawns, dried up weeds, and houses in disrepair. It looked like rain. The woman on the left saw a rainbow, small but tidy houses and lawns full of flowers. She even saw people dancing across a bridge. The two women sat down that evening and compared experiences. The one who sat on the right side of the bus bemoaned the ugliness she saw and envied the beauty the other woman saw. The next day they exchanged places on the bus. The woman on the left saw only unkept lawns, dried up weeds, and houses in disrepair. And it looked like rain, again! The woman on the right saw a rainbow, small but tidy houses and lawns full of flowers. She even saw people dancing across a bridge. As the two women exchanged conversation over their experiences of the day, the one who saw only ugliness dismissed the other woman's experience and said, "Well, I'm a realist!" The other woman smiled and just thought to herself, "I'm so grateful for my childhood." ~ This fable was invented by Lenore Senior, but based on a true story.

Ooooh! This is one of those images that catches my attention and I can't make out what it is but I am so attracted to it. Maybe it's the colors, but it might also be the wave of holes or spaces. In any case, this just flows.

Stunningly sophisticated semi-abstraction and with a story behind it to give it a lot of depth. I like the moral in the tale. We can get so caught up in mundane reality we forget to look up and see the stars. And then its over. That should not be. F/V

Lenore, Love the vivid colors, the design and the way this flows. I also enjoyed reading the fable along with it. Most of my life,I've been an idealist, positive thinker, looking for the bright side. To use a cliche' : "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"... I always enjoy visiting your site. You have such a variety of fascinating images on FAA. Thanks for your encouraging comments. Always good to hear from you. Have a happy Wednesday. Anne
