Description
The Water Pump, photograph by Lenore Senior. I recently returned from a trip to see my brother and sister and their spouses in Encampment and Saratoga, WY. I left October 13 and returned October 16, and on October 15, the family celebrated what would have been my father's 100th birthday. Hope you enjoy this new series in both photography, and as I get more time, digital paintings. I love the wide vistas of the west, particularly Wyoming and Colorado, the states with which I'm most familiar. This is from my gallery, "The Journey Home." We built our hand-hewn log cabin in the 1960's and the family lived there for many years until my father's death. The water pump was a late addition to our land because it was costly and hard to use. But it sometimes beat carrying heavy water jugs from town (40 lbs. each arm). I love the west and have a great love of the land and its animals.

I really like this composition, Lenore! The water pump and blue cup are such a wonderful subject matter --- with stories to tell. The depth down to the valley and the colorful, textured prairie grasses are beautiful. Ahhh, a nice serene mood!! l/f/p

Lenore, I love this image, with the tall grasses and the old pump in the foreground! Beautiful colors and composition; the wire fence is an integral part of its beauty! l/f

Love the way the blue cup and man made items stand apart from the richly textured natural backdrop. Great eye! LF
