Description
1950's - Navajo Dog is from film shot on the Navajo Reservation by Willoughby Senior and processed by one of his daughters, Lenore Senior. This dog appears healthy judging by his speed! Dogs in those days, according to Willoughby, were not treated as pets and had to fend for themselves, as did the native populations due to poverty and lack of jobs.

Those rez dogs were characters that I remember well -- "mongrels" as tough as they come. This one resembles a wild desert bighorn sheep and is just as wily, you can be sure! Fabulous work that captures its strange, endearing qualities! fav
