1950's - Leading the Horse is a photograph adapted from 8 mm movie film shot in the '50's by Willoughby Senior who had a 30 year relationship with people of the Hopi and Navajo tribes. This work was processed by one of his daughters, Lenore Senior, who states, "I am confused as to whether this man is Hopi or Navajo. He is in the desert (not mesa), which leads me to believe he is Navajo, plus his slender build is a Navajo body type. In the context of the film, this scene is near the Navajo branding scenes. However, I associate the headband with the Hopi. Therefore, this image will be seen in both galleries."
