Description
Lenore Senior: "Do Not Go Gentle." The original photo was taken on 8 mm movie film by Willoughby Senior on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. This seems a fitting memorial piece to Senior who died Feb. 4, 1984, of melanoma cancer. While he originally wanted to die at home in his beloved cabin the family built, when he saw what his illness was doing to his wife, he said he needed to go to the hospital. My sister walked on snowshoes the 2+ miles to the neighbors to call me where I was working in town and I called a friend to help get my dad out by snowmobile. He died about 2 days after arriving at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyoming. Let not our promises extracted from loved ones be selfish, but rather, the extension of a loving life. The title to this work is a reference to the poem by Dylan Thomas.
